I read Atlas Shrugged, the Fountainhead, The Romantic Manifesto and several other Rand books back in high school and college.
At the time I thought it was great..... now I think her writings are juvenile. Her philosophy of Objectivism

Cameras Roll on Ayn Rand's 'Atlas Shrugged' | Inside Movies
What a great way to put together a movie - it really captures the Rand ethos. In the off chance that this film makes it to theaters, the Rand faithful should boycott. So one of the most eagerly anticipated projects of the last half century has gone into production with a minuscule budget of $5M, not a single decent actor, and a TV actor-turned-director (of "One Tree Hill" nonetheless) directing. Did the producers even read Atlas Shrugged. But I finally broke through the barrier on one extended vacation in the 1990s, and found the rest of the book to be fairly interesting -- at least capable of motivating me to keep reading to the end. All because the producers would have had to relinquish the rights had they not started filming this past weekend. I tried for years to read AS and never got beyond the first hundred pages....
