The government who played with her life by casting her younger sister in the games to begin with (at which point Katniss volunteered to take her sister’s place) continues to toy with her, and Katniss and her fellow victor Peeta are placed in the... In the meantime, I’ve had a few weeks to read for fun and I’ve read three books that I enjoyed quite a bit. The first was , the main character from the previous book continues her life as a victor of the hunger games. This is the point at which the story really picks up and becomes interesting, and the series’ themes of governmental control and personal strength and courage come through in this story even stronger than in the first book. The contestants in the new games are all former winners, which makes survival that much more difficult. It’s a lot of reading on top of the rest of the coursework, but I’m looking forward to it. I can’t think of another class that I’d rather take during the summer. The class I’m taking is called the reading interests of adults, which is basically a readers’ advisory course....
